This is an incredible idea that we need to consider. An environmental engineer has created a method by which seedlings are dropped by “bombers” in biodegradable canisters. Since we need to reforest an area the size of Manhattan every day, this method could renew the earth’s biosphere by progressively reforesting huge tracts of land.
The big energy companies are continuing to perpetuate the lie of “clean” coal, when there is no such thing. Coal for energy use generates the largest air pollution on the planet and there are no technologies that create “clean” coal: it pollutes. The Tennessee coal sludge disaster of 2008 shows us how deadly is the use of coal.
The book, Ecotopia: The Notebooks and Reports of William Weston, was written and self-published by Ernest Callenbach in 1975. This visionary work spoke of a new nation called Ecotopia created from the former American states of Oregon, Washington, and Northern California. The book accurately predicted recycling, composting, bioregionalism, local food cultures, social environmentalism, and more.
