One of my favorite blogs, Zen Habits, has a great article on the flow experience. Flow is a state of consciousness natural to the human situation, in which a person’s sense of time is removed from our waking consciousness. In a flow experience, a seemingly effortless state of deep contentment can emerge, providing a psychic ambrosia that is healing, nourishing, and remarkably facilitative of the creative process. ScienceDaily (2008-03-02) — Sedentary people who regularly complain of fatigue can increase their energy levels by 20 percent and decrease their fatigue by 65 percent by engaging in regular, low intensity exercise, according to a new study. Interestingly, improvements in energy and fatigue were not related to increases in aerobic fitness that the exercisers experienced.
